Best Recipe!

This is the best dessert! I made it for the first time and absolutely loved it! And it's so easy to make...the only pan you get dirty is the one you cook it in! Try it, you'll like it!
Blackberry Cobbler
1 C Flour
1 C Sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. Baking Soda
3/4 C. Milk
1/2 C. Butter, melted (a cube)
2 C. fresh blackberries
2 tsp. Almond extract
Mix flour, sugar, salt and baking powder in an 8X8 glass baking dish. Stir in milk, blend. Pour melted butter over dough. Toss blackberries with almond extract. Spoon over top of dough. Bake 45-50 min at 350 degrees, or until dough rises to top and is brown. Serve with vanilla ice cream.

Memorial Day

We had a fun Memorial Day!  Byron came to hang out with us for the day, since Hayley was with her family in CA.  First we went swimming at our pool, and the girls loved it.  I am battling a cold, so I didn't feel like swimming so it was good that Byron was there to help.  After that we headed to a really cool kids museum at the gateway.  The girls loved it and could have played there all day!  Everything is hands on, and it has everything you can think of to allow kids to use their imagination. It was a fun filled day and the girls crashed at 7:30-YES!  Now I have to go to bed early so I can battle this cold!
P.S. So many people have told me that Taylor looks so much like Byron, and like she could be his daughter...what do you think?

Things to love about Utah

So, I now live in the great state of Utah.  I must admit the transition has not been a piece of cake, but it has gone a lot smoother than I imagined.  The girls are doing great, and I am finding things that I really like here.  Every day when I am driving around I think, "I could really learn to like living here!"  Salt Lake is a great city and there are so many fun things to do with the kids.  Some of the things that I love about Utah are...
They have the greatest "bad for you" food places here!  They have the BEST ice cream shops, bakeries, bread places, restaurants, etc!  I hope I don't get fat here:)
They have really fun and cute boutiques with stuff for your house you can't find anywhere
It's awesome to have so many church resources here!
And my most favorite thing are the snow cone shacks!
When I was a kid and we would come visit in the summer, my favorite was to get snow cones every day...tigers blood!  I went the other day with the girls and died when I tried vanilla colada!  AWESOME!  I am addicted!
I seriously looked into opening one of these in CA.  I mean it's a no brainer!  Low cost to run, and it's guaranteed business! Why don't they have these in CA!?!

Happy 30th Birthday!

Yesterday was my 30th Birthday and it was a great day!  In the morning Chad's sister Kristin watched the girls so I could shop for a couple of hours.  Then I went to lunch with Chad, his mom and his sisters.  Then I went and looked at houses (that was fun!  I found one that I love!) That night Chad surprised me with a get together with friends and family.  We went to Benihanas for dinner then it was back to our house for my favorite cake (baskin robbins choc. chip cookie dough cake) and games.  Chad gave me the most thoughtful gift-a GPS System for my car!  I am lost everyday here, and so he thought I needed some help!  And I do!  It was a wonderful day and I had a blast. It was so fun to hang out with childhood friends. I hadn't hung out with Jamie or Amy in 10 years!  It was great to catch up and hang out...now that I am in Utah I can see them more!
And thank you to ALL of the emails and phone calls!  It was hard to be away from CA on my birthday but it was great to know that I was not forgotten:)

Happy Mothers Day!

Today was a wonderful Mothers Day!  I was up all night, sick and taking care of the girls, so Chad let me sleep in and he took care of the girls.  He also made me breakfast and had the girls make me cute cards.  It is so wonderful to have a husband to help and take care of me.  He took care of everything today and it was great!  Then we headed to his mom's house to celebrate.  All the hubbies made dinner and did a good job.

Here is a picture of the moms, and then all the kids.
I really missed my mom and family today and wish I could have seen them!  Love you guys...and mom you are the best!

Pinata in the house!

Taylor has become obsessed with the toilet and love to sit on it and focus on going potty.  Sometimes we sit there for a half an hour and nothing happens, but she loves to just sit there and sing to herself.  She does tell me when she needs to poop, and will go on the toilet, but she has never peed in it yet.
Taylor has really been changing the past couple of weeks.  She is still SUPER attached to me, and will never leave my side (it drives me nuts sometimes!), but her vocabulary is exploding!  She is approaching the terrible twos and will throw tantrums and throw herself on the floor!  I was so sad when she learned the words "No" and "Mine!" two weeks ago!  Here we go!  She used to have the sweetest little voice, and now she just screams to get my attention!  Where did those pipes come from!?  She just adores Chad, and when we are all together she now prefers to have him hold her over me!  It's so hard to stay mad at her for long, because she just flashes me that cheesy grin and I melt!
Last week, some people in our ward had an open house for Chad and I.  It was a Cinco de Mayo theme, and they put a bunch of dollar bills and candy in a pinata for our gift.  We thought the girls would have a blast breaking it open so we brought it home and let them have at it!  They loved it and now ask for a pinata every day!

Catchin' Up

Now that I have finally found my cord to connect my camera to my computer I can post some pics!  The week we came back from our honeymoon, we went to the Hogle Zoo with Chad's mom, sisters and kids.  The girls loved it and it was so fun to watch the instant connection they had with their new cousins.  It sure is fun to have a lot of girls around!

This past weekend I went to Cali for the weekend with the girls.  We celebrated my birthday since I won't be home for it, and I had a wonderful time.  It was so fun to go out with my girlfriends and refuel. And it was great to get Katelyn and Taylor back together with Jordan and Carson!  I love my family!
