5 Things I Can't Live Without

I thought of this fun idea to list 5 (physical/tangible) things that I can't live without, and then tag you to list yours. It's fun to read and get ideas of great products from people!

1. Aquage Sea Salt Spray- This is a new discovery! I tried this hair product and LOVE it! If you have wavy/curly hair you need to try this. It puts the "beach in your hair" without the frizz. It gives you that dry, wavy look that you can run your fingers through without making it crunchy!
2. Bare Minerals Foundation and Mineral Veil- I looked for so long for a foundation that wasn't thick and didn't leave lines, and left you looking like you weren't wearing it. Then I tried this stuff! LOVE it! There are a lot of cheap imitations out there but this is the best! At first I thought how could a powder give you good coverage, and then I tried it. The mineral veil shrinks your pores so your skin is baby soft!
3. Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches!
Talk about the perfect ice cream fix for only 140 calories! Now I just need to not have one EVERY night!

4. The DVR! Isn't it amazing how we can live without something when it doesn't exist and then as soon as we have it we can't (for example the cell phone). I don't know what I would do without DVR. I wouldn't be able to watch anything (especially my Oprah shows, since the only time I have is after bedtime) It's magical that you can pause television and fast forward commercials!

5. I finally broke down and bought a couple of these shade tops and I LOVE them! They are expensive, but I now wear them everyday! Great undershirts that cover everything and are long so when you bend over you don't expose yourself to the world.

There are plenty more, but these are the first that came to mind!
OK, now I tag Carrie, Marci, Heather and Tammy! I look forward to reading...

Recipe

Tell me how you like this new recipe I posted...I am excited about this one!

Patty Cake

When Katelyn plays Patty Cake with Taylor, Taylor laughs hysterically. She was laughing really hard, so I went to get the camera, and then of course she stopped. But the video is still cute anyway

Easter Girls

Here are the girls in their matching dresses. Katelyn wasn't very cooperative, but Taylor loved the camera! She sat on the blanket and just smiled, laughed and talked to us! She was adorable! Then I put on the bunny ears and took more pictures! I am blessed to have two beautiful and healthy girls who make me smile!

Easter Fun

Our Easter weekend was great! On Saturday we went to the city Egg Hunt at Canyon Country Park and it was fun. They have the Easter Bunny there for pictures and it's free, which beats the $15 bunny at the mall. When they finally shouted "Go!" and TONS of kids and parents started running for the eggs Katelyn freaked out and started crying. So I picked up a couple of eggs for her. I think she was so anxious to do it and when it became time she became overwhelmed. They had it divided by age groups which was nice.

Then on Sunday morning when Katelyn woke up I told her that the Easter Bunny had left her a present downstairs and she freaked out and ran downstairs. She was very excited to get her basket (which didn't have ANY candy in it because she was already on sugar overload!). Then after church everyone in my family came over for lunch and an egg hunt. It was so much fun to have all of the cousins together and the weather was perfect! Katelyn did awesome on this hunt, and just ran around like a crazy girl yelling, "Look! Another one! Oh my gosh there's another one!" Then Katelyn colored eggs with Aunt Kim and absolutely loved it! She loved mixing the colors to see what color the egg would come out, and identified every color. It was cute.

This is NOT my life!

With Katelyn EVERYTHING is a challenge...EVERY task is a challenge, and often results in a huge tantrum. Even the simplest tasks, like waking up, getting in and out of the car seat, putting on her clothes, sitting at the table, etc. I go into her room to say good morning and she tells me to get out and close the door! Where does she learn this stuff!? Anyways, here was our morning...
We went to see Horton Hears a Who, and she did ok. She wanted to roam the theater and didn't want anyone to follow her or disturb her. It was more interesting to go up and down the lighted stairs than to watch the movie. The movie was adorable by the way!
So, we get home and I ask her to get out of the car and she throws a fit...I leave her buckled in her seat with the doors closed and take Taylor inside. I come back outside and here is our dialogue:
Me: Katelyn are you done crying?
K: No! Go away! Screams
Me: Ok, let me know when you are done
I stand by the car while she screamed for 5 minutes...why? I have no idea!
She is finally ready to get out of the car and takes 5 steps and then has another meltdown! I pick her up put her in the bathroom and tell her to let me know when she is done and ready to be nice. Long story short, we battled for 45 minutes and she became my possessed child who became another person...no not even a person-I don't know what she was!
Then we have lunch, I take her upstairs for a nap. An hour later I hear her scream! I run up there and open the door to her standing there COVERED in desitin!!! And she says, "Poo Poo". She had pooped in her pull ups and decided to cover herself in "lotion". I stay calm, because if I ever raise my voice and say "no"to her she completely loses it. I take her to the tub, wash her 100 times (do you know how hard it is to clean desitin!?) and head back to her bedroom.
Me:Katelyn, where's the desitin?
K: Over there on the bed
I look at the bed...OH MY GOSH! The wall is covered, her sheets and bedspread covered, and then I look over at her toy chest-covered! Then she climbed on the chest and decided to paint pretty "clouds" all over the window!!! An ENTIRE large tube of desitin emptied in her room!
WHY ME!? And this all happened before 2!

Update

Thank you everyone who has commented, emailed and given me support and advice with Taylor! I took her to the doctors again today, and this one wasn't much help either. I am now convinced that it is something with her digestive/intestinal/bowel system. It comes and goes in waves and she tenses up screams, and then farts. Ever since she was born I have had to help her poop, and if I don't she will go 4-5 days without pooping. The doctor said the typical, "feed her prunes, give her water..." and I said, "I feed her prunes every morning!" They are having me switch her formula, which I don't think she'll do since it was a nightmare finding this one that she would drink. She is now refusing to eat any solids and only wants to breastfeed (I am feeding her 1/2 breast milk and 1/2 formula). I was referred to a gastroenterologist...so I am waiting for that appointment. So, that's the latest...any new ideas?

My Poor Taylor Bean

This blog is more for me and my journaling purpose, but I also need the advice of you moms out there...since a lot of times moms know more than the doctors do!
Ever since Taylor has been born she has been very gassy and we thought she had reflux. I have given her gas-x just about every night before bed. Well, she caught a cold a couple of days ago, and then last night happened. She threw up once and was just SCREAMING in pain. I knew it was her stomach because she would cringe in pain. I literally had to bounce her and keep her moving the ENTIRE night. If I stopped she started screaming. AND I had to keep her vertical...as soon as I laid her down she would scream. So, needless to say I got zero sleep. After it didn't get better in the morning I decided to take her to the doctor.
Well, the doctor wasn't helpful and just said, if she doesn't have a fever, and she is eating and pooping then I see no red flags and she is probably just cranky...WHAT!? I was so upset. I said watch this...I laid down happy Taylor and she immediately started screaming. I said, "You don't see a problem with that!?" He went to get a "second opinion" and then prescribed be anti acid meds for her and said, "If this doesn't help come back"...thanks a lot! I told him that I was afraid she had reflux or serious stomach problems. I heard that they don't have to vomit all the time to have reflux...
SO, here is night #2 and she is down for bed (meaning she will sleep for 45 minutes and then scream and I will have to settle her back down-the nightly routine). We shall see how this goes. Taylor has never slept longer than 2 hours at a time and is always restless...I think it's because of her stomach.
Anyone out there have experience with this or with reflux?

I love coconut

A random thing about me...
I love coconut! I love the smell of it (tanning oil), the taste of it in dessert and my favorite drink is a pina colada! Any smoothie with coconut is better! My favorite chocolate is a haystack....
I found these in a store and about died!

It's a haystack!
And then I went to Target and saw these...

YUM! Usually coconut is combined with dark chocolate, and I am not a fan of dark, so when I saw these I had to buy them!
Yeah for coconut!

Feeding the Ducks

This morning we went to feed the ducks and it was actually scary! There were like 50 ducks and as soon as we parked they attacked our car and then they attacked us! One jumped up and grabbed the bread out of Katelyn's hand...aggressive little suckers! I had to hold Katelyn so they wouldn't knock her over! Then they kept pecking at my legs! I don't think we are going to do that again! I got some hilarious video, but can't download it on here...here are a few pics

Taylor is the definition of JOY...she smiles at everyone and is always getting lots of compliments because she smiles and talks to anyone she meets. She may not sleep well for me, but she sure does make me smile!

Katelyn is growing so fast, I can't keep up with her...she hasn't slowed down since birth and I am buying clothes and shoes every other month! She is now wearing 5T!

Holding Katelyn so the ducks don't attack her!

I got a haircut!

I cut my hair...seriously cut my hair! And I am loving it! It is taking some getting used to, and I don't know how I am going to find the time to style it everyday...but I love it! It is so much lighter and has a style now! I cut off 9" and I am donating it to charity, which is a plus.

What do you think?

BATHTIME FUN!

Here's a picture of me as a baby...do you see the resemblance in Taylor?
