I feel like a first time mom again

All of the lessons and "tricks" I learned with Katelyn, have all gone out the window with Taylor! Why is it that EVERYTHING that worked or didn't work with Katelyn is the complete opposite with Taylor and I have to learn ALL new tricks! That's just not fair! Here are some examples:

Lesson #1-Swaddling always works to calm down a crying baby and to keep her asleep...Taylor NEVER liked to be swaddled and still won't stay asleep
Trick #1- Baby Einstein works wonders and gives you that 20 minutes you need to take a shower or get things done...Taylor won't watch any TV, and is bored with the Baby Einstein videos
Lesson #2- The bouncer is a life saver and keeps your baby entertained for long periods of time...Taylor hates being in the bouncer, in fact she hates any place other than my arms!
Trick #2- White noise is a miracle and can get any crying baby to sleep...not Taylor!

On the other hand, Taylor is a much happier baby than Katelyn was...she just wants to be held all day which makes it hard for me to get anything done. But I will take holding a happy baby all day over a screaming, colic baby ANY DAY!
So, for those moms who have like 10 babies...do they have to learn new tricks EVERY time!?

Silly Girls

I was playing with the girls and had them both laughing hysterical! My mom grabbed the camera and got some cute action shots...these are the moments that make all of the hard ones worth it!

I've been tagged

Eight Things About Me

1. What was I doing 10 years ago: I was 18…Going to school at Utah State, living with 4 of the most amazing people ever! My Freshman year was transformational for me.

2. 5 things on my to-do list today: 1-Laundry 2-Take Taylor to Dr appt 3-Plan week’s dinners 4-Make grocery list and go shopping 5-Call Preschool to get Katelyn enrolled next Fall

3. What snacks do I enjoy: ice cream, chips and salsa, yogurt with fresh berries and granola…my life is eating snacks ‘cause I don’t have time for meals other then breakfast and dinner. I would rather snack than eat a meal anyway

4. What would I do if I were suddenly a billionaire: But my dream house, buy my dream car, create college funds for both of the girls, and invest the rest

5. 3 bad habits: Letting laundry pile up, not putting dirty laundry in the basket (I create a pile in the bathroom), leaving cupboard doors open

6. 5 places I've lived: Newhall, Ca; Logan, Ut; Jackson Hole, WY; Salt Lake, UT; Canyon Country, CA

7. 5 jobs I've had: Interior Designer, Substitute Teacher, Retail Manager, Hotel Manager, Receptionist

8. 5 thing people don't know about me: Just like Amber I never eat the last bite of ANYTHING, except dessert of course (weird I know)...I just can't do it. I have to wash my hair everyday, it grosses me out not to, I love to sing and wish deep inside that I was a singer! I talk to myself...a lot! I can't use the same utensil that I used for dinner for dessert...it is gross!

6 Month Pictures of Taylor

Today I took both of the girls to Picture People to take 6 month pictures of Taylor. I know I was crazy to take both of them, and assume that Katelyn would just sit quietly while I was with Taylor. But all in all, Katelyn did really well...she had a meltdown in the mall on the way out, but at least the picture taking experience went well:) Sorry the pics aren't that great (I took a pic of the pic)...but we did get some cute shots of Taylor! She is getting so big and is sitting up all the time now! She can't wait to start moving around with her sister! Monday she has shots again (I don't think that experience ever gets easier!)Today marks the 3rd day that Katelyn has not had any accidents! It's a miracle! It was like one day someone turned on the switch and Katelyn got it! She just started going to the bathroom in the toilet and understanding what "dry" meant. I mean I still have to be really good at putting her on the pot every hour, but life is great. Katelyn is so proud of her undies and was excited to take a picture and then look at it. Hopefully we will continue moving forward in the potty department, and won't look back. (Doesn't she look so grown up in this pic!?)

SICK

I thought pacing back and forth in my bedroom, bouncing a sick baby at 2am was bad...than I got sick, really sick. Both of the girls were sick for 4 weeks, and I finally got them on antibiotics when they both got ear infections. Then I got hit with the full blown flu...HOLY COW! I couldn't get out of bed for 2 days, and today, 4 days later I am able to sit at the computer. I would just like to say how funny it is when men get sick and can't lift a finger, and then we get sick and some how manage to still take care of the babies! Anyway, I am finally feeling better. Flu shots every year for me from here on out.
I bought the girls adorable matching Valentine shirts and managed to get them both dressed on Thursday, but didn't take a picture...so I will have to re-create it and post them later. Here are a few pics I took yesterday and today...
Katelyn found mud and had a hay day. It was great because she was entertained and I just had to sit there
Katelyn's first purchase from the Ice Cream Man. She picked a Dora popsicle and was so excited when she heard the truck coming down the street!

We are LOVED!

Today we received the most wonderful surprise in the mail...a package from Grandma and Grandpa Olsen! I just love getting mail! Inside were tons of goodies and gifts for the girls and a couple special things for me...

I had posted earlier that I loved pink starbursts and red and purple skittles...well, Gay packaged some up just for me! This was the most thoughtful thing! I couldn't believe it and am so grateful that she took the time to separate those candies! THANK YOU! Katelyn just loved everything...especially the lollipops!

And when I tried taking the picture of them with the goodies, Taylor wouldn't take her eyes off of the lollipop! I couldn't get her to look at the camera! THANK YOU Grandma and Grandpa! We love you!

Recipes

I have put two new yummy and super easy recipes on...to the right. That is the criteria for recipes for me lately...they have to be GOOD and EASY...and with only a few ingredients, so they aren't expensive! ENJOY! I also wonder who actually tries these recipes and if you actually like them...SO, if you try them please leave a comment on whether you liked them or not. And I would love to hear any recipes that you have!

I got Katelyn's hair in a french braid! I put mine in braids and she wanted hers done. With a lot of hairspray we did it!

And Taylor discovered her tongue. All day long she sticks it out and curls it over her top lip. It's adorable!

I LOVE

I got this idea from Julie...
In honor of Valentines Day I am writing down 10 things that I LOVE

I LOVE...

1) The smell of clean babies and cement after it rains
2) Pink Starbursts, and red and purple Skittles...and ONLY those colors...I throw away the rest. I know I am crazy. I think for Valentines they should sell just the pink and red flavors!
3) The sound of my girls laughter
4) To read self help books
5) Music- anything that has a good message and inspires me or just makes me want to dance
6) My Uggs!
7) Decorating...Every time I walk into a place I notice the decor...Interior Design gets me excited!
8) Ice Cream! Especially Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
9) Going to new places and eating at new restaurants. Nothing makes me more happy than spending a day with my family at a new exciting place.
10) My family and friends...I have the best ones! And it is amazing how when you go through your hardest times in life, people just seem to come out of the woodwork. And they are the perfect people at the perfect time and seem to say the perfect thing.

What do you love? I tag Marci and Amber

So my friend Cami rocks! She has made my blog look so adorable and I thank her for that! I am trying to learn how to do it on my own, but it is tough and time consuming! And time is something I don't have! Work is going well...for a part time job it pays great and it isn't too stressful. The stressful part is being away from home and then coming home and taking care of the home and mom stuff. I am wearing a lot of hats, but my mother is keeping me sane!

Katelyn has decided that she doesn't want to pee in the toilet EVER and we are back at square one! Yesterday I was ready to have the full potty/at home day, and I said "Katelyn do you want to wear your big girl underwear!?" She looked at me and said, "Nope I want to wear a diaper!" And this last week she has just been a monster! She says NO to everything and is screaming a ton! Oh, I just pray for strength every day lately. This too shall pass I keep reminding myself.
And Taylor wakes up every 2 hours during the night! How did I get blessed with 2 non-sleepers! Last night, I got out of my bed 10 times! (I counted!)

There is a cute Katelyn story to tell...
The other day my mom was trying to get Katelyn to lay down so she could change her diaper (Katelyn has been refusing lately), and Katelyn threw a fit. So my mom said, "Let's say a prayer." (Only my mom would think of this) So my mom folded her arms and started praying that Katelyn would listen and lay down for Grandma. After she was done Katelyn looked up at her and said, "Thank you Grandma." And then she immediately laid down for her! Prayer Works!

I watched Oprah the other day and am going to read her next book club book. I am VERY excited since it is all about changing yourself and your life, and I have read the other book by this author. I signed up online to take Oprah's online course where I get online every Monday for 10 weeks and chat with other people, Oprah and the author about the book! I am very excited!
