Halloween Time!

I have started decorating the house for Halloween, and here's what I 've done so far...

Ballerina Girl

I tried Taylor in a little dance class and she LOVED it! It was so funny because when she walked in, they told the girls to line up in a row, and Taylor went and stood in front of the row-front and center and yelled, "I'm ready!" Then she just stared at herself in the mirror and made silly faces. The teacher had to put her back with the other girls. The entire class she was very outgoing and kept talking to the teacher and making her laugh. I asked her what her favorite part was and she said, "When they gave us wands and we danced like princesses!"

I have been trying to get Katelyn yo take dance, and after trying her in a class when she was 3 we haven't tried again. She wanted nothing to do with it, and would cry everytime. But of course, after she watched Taylor's class she BEGGED me to put her in dance! GRRR, I swear I can never win with that girl! I am going to keep Katelyn in gymnastics and Taylor in dance.

Little Mama!

When we dropped Katelyn off at Kindergarten, Taylor yelled out the window, "Bye Katelyn! Have a great day! I will see you in a couple of hours!" Katelyn then yelled back, "Bye Taylor! I love you!" I had a hard time holding back the tears, and just wanted to soak up the moment. I am so grateful that I have 2 girls, that love and adore eachother and are best friends. They will be such a support to eachother as they grow up.

Then when we got home Taylor said, "Mom, do you need help cleaning up?" I said, "Sure!" and gave her a feather duster to dust. As we were cleaning Taylor thoughtfully said, "Mom, when I grow up I am going to be a mommy...a REALLY good mommy!" I said, "Yes Taylor, you are!" This girl was born to be a mommy, and I just love her enthusiasm for it.

Taylor's 1st day of Preschool

I can't believe Taylor is in Preschool! This is her first year, and she will be going 3 times a week. She is SO ready for school, and for the past 2 weeks after we drop Katelyn off at school she says, "When is it my turn?" Taylor handles change so well, and I don't think I have ever seen her shy or nervous. She loved meeting her teacher and loved that her 2 cousins were in her class. The only hard thing right now is getting her off naps. She is such a good napper and naps everyday for me. But preschool is in the afternoon, so no more naps. She is ready to crash and burn at 5 and it's a struggle to keep her awake from 4 on. Hopefully she adjusts soon, and I will just keep putting her to bed really early. I am going to have 3 hours every day without kids...WOW! That will be wonderful when the baby is born!

Gymnastics

I have been trying to decide what to put Katelyn in this year. I knew she would not do dance, since we tried it once and she did not like it at all. I also knew that she needed something physical and structured. I thought about karate, and still might try that. I signed her up for a gymnastics class to see how she liked it. She LOVED it, but the place was too expensive. So after searching around, I decided to try another place. I put both girls in to see how they did. Katelyn did awesome and loved it. It was amazing for me to see Katelyn with confidence and no fear. Whenever she had to learn something new in the past, it took her a long time to gain confidence. She was out there doing back hand springs without even thinking about it! The teacher came up to me afterwards and asked if she had taken gymnastics before because she couldn't believe how fast she was picking it up. For now, I think we have found Katelyn's niche.

Taylor kept up too. She was with other 5 year olds, and was doing well. I think she had fun, and would honestly have fun doing anything. I was surprised how well she stood still and took direction. At home she is my wanderer and it's hard to get her attention. I still think Taylor would LOVE dance and needs to move to music! So I am going to try her in dance.
