Happy 5th Birthday Katelyn!

This post is a little late, since June has been a crazy month! Katelyn celebrated her 5th birthday on the 11th. We went to Lagoon on her birthday with all of her cousins and they had a blast! The weather was bad and we got rained out later in the day, but it was still a success! Then 2 days later, we headed to St. George. We always seem to be traveling or doing something fun on Katelyn's birthday-lucky girl.
I can't believe Katelyn is 5, but then on the other hand I can't believe she is only 5! Does that make sense? She is so ready to start Kindergarten and I am so excited for her to be in a classroom. She thrives off structure and does so well in school. Plus she is loving meeting new friends and becoming less shy and more of a social bug. She has made new friends in our new neighborhood and I love seeing her run to the neighbors to play. I am loving this age!!!

St. George Trip

Right after Katelyn's birthday we headed to St. George with my entire family for a week. This is the longest time my whole family has been together. It was awesome! Chad's mom was so nice to let us use both of the condos. There was plenty of space and plenty of beds for all 21 of us! We had a fun filled week-we took the boat out on the lake, went hiking in Zion National Park, went swimming a lot, went to a water park, went and saw Tarzan at the Tuacahn theater, played tennis and the boys played golf and went bike riding. I had to narrow down the pictures-between all of us we took over 400! It was so fun to see all of the cousins play and get to know eachother. I loved just being together and spending time together. We might have to make this a tradition. It amazing how many funand beautiful things there are to do in St. George!

A giveaway

My friend makes these adorable crocheted beanies and headbands and she is doing a giveaway! Check out her blog here or find her etsy shop! Here are the details:

A Give-Away for the Little Girl in Your Life

I just love doing give-aways so much so that I am already doing another! This one is geared toward little girls within the ages newborn to 12 years old. You can win BOTH of these items.

My hats really are my staple design, but as it is summer I know mothers may not be dressing their girls in beanies but winter will come again, so you can win a beanie with a flower appliqué and a headband with a rosette flower--a little more summer friendly. You may choose which ever color you would like for the flower on the hat and the headband.

Win it for your child, for a niece, or for a friend's little girl.

Memorial Day

We had a great Memorial Day together as a family. We spent the morning going on a hike up to a lake. It was gorgeous! Let the summer begin! It is so beautiful here in the summer. And this hike is right by where our new house is! Right by Little Cottonwood Canyon. The girls loved the hike and loved to explore. Katelyn is definitely more adventurous and loved to walk across the creek and search for bugs. Taylor wanted to be adventurous and kept saying, "We're going on an adventure!" But every time she would stumble or trip she would have a meltdown. And of course she wanted to do it "all by herself", and she wouldn't hold my hand, so she fell a lot. But we made it to the lake! Then of course we had to get a snow cone, and so now it is officially summer, and I will have to buy one of these every other day!
After naps we went swimming and the girls had a blast. It was a day well spent, and the girls slept well that night.
