Ever since last June, the girls have been begging for a kitten. We kept putting them off, and then they started writing letters to Santa for one! For a Family Night in Dec. we all wrote letters to Santa and both of the girls asked for one. We talked them into adding other requests to their lists. They had a hard time coming up with anything else they wanted for Christmas. After we mailed off the letters, Katelyn turned to me and said, "Mom, I hope Santa gets me the kitten and not the other things on my list!" We had the predicament of being in CA Christmas morning, so the girls made sure they gave Santa directions!
On Christmas morning the last gift opened was a toy kitten with a note attached that read, "I know how much you wanted a kitten for Christmas, but I also know you want to pick one out. I have told your parents where to get one when you get back home!" The girls were beyond excited and just wanted to go home right then!
When we got back we headed to Ogden to look at a new litter. My Mom and Aunt Joan were with us and it was so fun! Prior to this, everyone I told about getting the kitten said, "If you get one, you should get two. Two are way easier because they play and entertain each other and keep eac hother company. Well, the plan was to get JUST ONE...then we saw this brother and sister. They didn't leave each other's side and were adorable together. The owner said the kittens were bottle fed because the mother couldn't nurse, and the brother made sure his sister (the runt) got food before he did. Of course we couldn't separate them so we took them both home!!!
Life has been great with these guys...they have truly been the easiest pets ever!! I am amazed every time they go to the litter box, and they keep each other constant company. And the girls don't fight over them since they each got one!
The girls named them Max and Ruby (after a cartoon), and have loved loving them (Taylor often loves them too much!) Cameron finds them amusing and loves to watch them play with his toys.

Darling pictures!I am so happy for the girls to get kittens. Cats are really the easiest pets to care for, and getting the pair will keep them company when home alone.
