Sleep!

Taylor is 9 months old, and has NOT slept through ONE night, not one! The longest stretch she has gone is 5 hours...so needless to say I am very sleep deprived. You know you need sleep when co-workers tell you you look really tired! (translation:you look awful!) Last night my WONDERFUL mother volunteered to deal with Taylor, so I could have my first full night of sleep! It was magical!

Taylor is so close to crawling! She is just so frustrated because she wants to be a big girl like her sister and just can't. She hates baby food and wants the real stuff...too bad she doesn't realize that she can't chew!

While Taylor is progressing, Katelyn is regressing! The past couple of weeks Katelyn has been wanting to play with all the baby toys, sit in all the baby toys and have her Binky! The girl is so attached! For the past year she has only had it for nighttime and has been fine with that. But lately she sneaks in her room, or steals Taylor's and hides it in her pants! She is already hiding things from me and she is only 3! I have tried EVERYTHING to get her to give up that thing at nighttime, but nothing is working! She can't and won't go to sleep without it! What am I to do!?

How can you deal with no sleep. You need to read Healthy Sleep Habits Happy child. It is the sleep bible!

ahhh... the regression of the older child. I'm dealing with that right now too. So fun.

We tried the book Heather recommended, didn't work for Jake-- he still doesn't consistently sleep through the night! oi!

But, to end the pacifier we had him throw them away and we dealt with the falling asleep crying for a few days. It didn't take long, just a couple of days. It worked for us.

My SIL had my nephew put them all in a box to 'mail away' to the other babies (because he was a big boy now). Seemed to work for him.

Just a few suggestions. Best of luck to you... it's hard, this being a mommy stuff, isn't it?!?!

In your situation with Taylor not sleeping I wouldn't worry about Katelyn's pacifier at all!! It's not like she's going to take it with her to a sleepover when she's 8. Choose your battles momma:) Good luck!

I don't know how you deal with the no sleep either. It's only been one month with baby #3 and I'm ready for him to sleep through the night already. Hooray for your mom. She is wonderful!

When I was a kid, my mom told me our dog ate my pacifier. She said I never asked for it again. Ha....I was so dumb. We didn't even have a dog. I would agree with Genine though. You have enough on your plate. If nothing is working for you, don't worry about it for now. She'll give it up eventually.

Westley didn't sleep through the night till he was four! (yes, i'm the bearer of good news!) Morgan had a hard time parting with her pacifier. I finally cut it and she threw it away because it was broken.

the diaper fairy worked for us and diapers, maybe you should call her friend, the Pacifier Fairy!

We have MAJOR regression issues with kylie, too. luckily, now that she is enjoying being a big girl grown up (aka potty trained) she is doing a little better.

Wow you are dealing with alot. That was nice of your mom to watch her so you could get some sleep. I hope that it won't last forever. My sister in law cut the binkie head off the binkie. Madison carried it with her for like 3 days and then she didn't need it anymore. I don't know if that would work for her or not? But IT really is a battle because It isn't really good for their teeth I heard. But I don't have kids and I really don't know how hard that would be to take it away. Good luck Jamie!
