Swim Class

Monday was Katelyn's first swim class and she almost drowned! It was awful! I signed her up with the city and her teacher was a 16 year old kid who was doing this for the first time. So, after roll call he walks the kids out to where they can't touch the ground! Katelyn walks out and is looking around at the other kids and trying to keep up. Thankfully I was watching her like a hawk because she just went right under. I watched her walk out and then fall under the water. I started yelling at the kid who had his back towards her and he turned around and grabbed her. He wasn't even watching the kids and wasn't phased about Katelyn going under and flailing her arms around. She was crying and wanted to get out, but I didn't want her to freak out so I told her she was ok (what a bad lie!) I ran inside to get the manager and tell her what was going on...when she walked out with me Katelyn went under again! She yelled at the kid and told him he was supposed to have the kids at the steps. So, he took the kids to the steps, gave them diving rings, dropped them and told the kids to DIVE down and get them...WHAT!? So needless to say, I am worried about tonight's class...I am demanding that she go with another instructor. We will see.
Katelyn is doing really well in Preschool and loves it! I am loving the break and one on one time with Taylor. I hate to say it, but this little break makes me enjoy being a mother more...I guess absence makes the heart grow fonder!

Oh my goodness...don't go there again! When I lived there I worked for a club called Tadpool Swim School. It was SO cute! I don't know if it still exists...but they were excellent! I wish I lived there! I'd teach her swimming lessons! I taught several little people in our ward lessons...my goodness...they're probably all grown up now...aaaaackkkk! I feel old now. But seriously...demand someone better.

www.swim4life.com (wow they've really expanded since I worked there!?!) But I really thought the owner had a good philosophy...and I loved the underwater pictures they took at the end of the session...also they keep the water @ some absurd temperature...it was so icky to teach in, but the kids LOVED it. (I hope this isn't where you had the bad experience...uh oh...)anyway! Good Luck! Swimming is SO important!

Hey! I got kicked out of the place we did it last year {I knew the day would come eventually} And so I am not doing the same thing as far as dance goes. I wanted Leila to be in it still so I am doing a free class at a church building if I can get permission. I might be full though. I will check my numbers and let you know. Nice new car too!

What an idiot swim teacher, I would be ticked. Talk about making the kids scared to swim sheesh!

I can't believe how big Katelyn is, she looks so grown up in her preschool pics. I am so glad that you get that one on one time with Taylor. Katelyn is probably really enjoying all the activities in school.

Hope you are having a great weekend. Love ya

And yes, let me tell you - after a very long summer, I am finally getting to miss my boys again, it's a wonderful feeling!
